A Farewell to YNS...

Well today will be my last posting on behalf of Your Next Stamp, Karen thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to work along side you fabulous DT team! Today's challenge is to use purple; you can use a little or a lot. Here is my creation using Your Fabulous:

I don't really use a lot of purple however I found this great big scrap of patterned paper by K&CoMPANY as the preempt to the card. That skirt just screams paper piece me so I did. The flowers on the background are from that single flower I cut from a purse in the set. I wanted to share something with you about the button. I didn't have any matching buttons so I grabbed a clear one and used my Alcohol based Prismacolor markers and colored on the back side then allowed to dry. Pretty sweet eh?
So, when your perfectly purple card is complete, stop by the YNS Challenge sight to share you creation! Have a wonderful Wednesday! Beth

Unscripted Saturday's Sketch # 48

Hello again! How was your week? Mine was over before it ever started! One great thing is that it's Saturday, that means the kiddos get to go to an Easter egg hunt in the a.m .& they can't wait! I was thinking more in the lines that a new Unscripted Sketch is underway here it is:

Pretty great eh, remember we are giving away prizes sometimes plus you can earn a fun blinkie to proudly display on your blog. Here is my creation for the week using my last Rock Star Anya image graciously given to me by Sarah...sigh...

I forgot how vivid everything is when photographing outdoors, I just need to rethink my staging tactics. Well it's up to you now have a Super Saturday! Beth aka BR-T

Fruit Roll Ups, not just for consumption anymore

second posting today scroll down for Paper Cutz challenge...

This is the 4th Friday of the month which means you need  to hop on over to the Mod Podge Rocks blog today and leave her a sweet comment to be entered in a ANOTHER Mod Podge Started Kit Giveaway!  These kits are awesome!

There is so much you can do with glue if you set your mind to it! When I received this kit a month ago I had two ideas rolling around and I just now got around to trying them out.
My first thought was to create a pseudo embossing technique with Mod Podge and reinker.

Start by placing Mod Podge of your choosing  on a hard surface. The amount of glue was about a 2 inches in diameter with 5 drops of black re inker added.

Mix well!

Get a layer as thin possible on second hard surface, glue up stamp,

Here is your image! By the way I am using Torendi's M is for Monster

Allow to dry & color as desired!

Here is where the Fruit Roll Up comes into play, start with a non stick surface, (I used a special crafting sheet) dump a ton of glue on it..After adding about 7 drops of any re inker color of choice (be warned the color may be different than your expectations!) mix well, spread around and allow to dry. The dry glue will become transparent and very bubbly and removes easily from the non stick surface.  It has the consistency of a fruit roll up yet less sticky. I stamped "Monster" on it and moved it to it's final resting place along with the embossed image from earlier. Here is the sketch I used from Sketchy Thursdays:

 Here is my layout:

Here are some close ups:

So, are you feeling the powerful bond that Pod Podge and I have developed? I hope so! Have a great day! Beth

Let's Do the Time Warp Again...

What... where... how...my week it's gone! I have done nothing in blog land nothing! I have been knee deep in paper, ink & glue, just to busy to chat with anyone. That has to change because I am going through inspiration withdrawal, I need to see amazing creations! I know you won't let me down with the next Paper Cutz Challenge. Create an Easter card without a bunny or chick. I received some awesome blog candy from In2Stamps this week and they are so awesome! When you have a minute go check out there store. I used Littlebell in flowerpot for my challenge card:

I am not sure what to think of this card I am wishing I wouldn't have included the canvas circle, it's to coarse of a fiber for the lightness of the rest of the card. We live and learn right? Well I hope you stop by this challenge for some great creations by the rest of the dt. Have a great morning! Beth

Saturday Unscripted Sketches # 47

Well I hope you are all having an awesome Saturday!  It is time for another awesome sketch at Unscripted Sketches created by the amazing  Sarah Kaye:
Now if this isn't wide open for interpretation I don't know what is! We are adding on a piggy back challenge to use a paint chip. Unbelievable as this may sound I don't have a single paint chip anywhere! I am quite excited about this card using this incredible stamp ching-chou kuik's Sunflower Angel from Sweat Pea Stamps. Here it is:

These images drive one to the creative overdrive of life SERIOUS OVERDRIVE! I shouldn't tell you this but do you see the button? This is a cover up! I was all ready to package up this card when to my horror I noticed a smudge I could have cried! fortunately I was able to come up with this solution of stamping onto the button and covering the smear like that was what I intended all along...whew! I suppose my telling you defeats the purpose. Oh well it is what it is. I have 9 more hours of classes to experience here at conference and I can no longer feel my butt. The worst part, all the ink stains have disappeared from my fingers!  I have however been immersed in all sorts of valuable information to better improve my skills as an EMT. This is good for me and the patients of the future. Have a great day! Beth

Paper Cutz Friday...

Wowie! I am so pumped at all the entries last week at Paper Cutz, you guys rock! This weeks challenge is any theme but you must include 3 buttons and 1 ribbon! Here is my entry using a fun freebie from Dawn Moore at Lost in Scraps .I love looking at these flower centers if you stare at them they looks like they're spinning!

I am going to try my best to stop by a few blogs this weekend however I will be in various training sessions all weekend to ensure my national EMT license will remain intact. I love being a volunteer EMT for my community every call is exhilarating to me, I hope that doesn't make me a sicko!
OK back to the challenge at hand remember 3 buttons 1 ribbon and the rest is up to you! Have an excellent Friday! Beth aka BR-T

Going beyond green...

2nd posting today scroll down for YNS challenge

Red and yellow and pink and Green...Ok we do want to stick with green again this week at Inky Impression Challenges just the other kind of green that is growing ever so popular. Recycling / Reusing, this can be done on so many levels. You can actually make some nifty stuff from actual trash or soon to be recycled products.  Disassembling  and old card and recreating a new one with some of the old card stuff can work quite nicely as well. Do whatever else means reuse/recycle to you. I chose to use an aluminum can and some corrugated cardboard for my project. If you click on image you get a better view!

I was able cut the aluminum can with on of my Spellbinders dies however when using s smaller die I'd suggest you leave the initial cut reaming in the die ( it really is wedged in there)and running a second cut through with more aluminum and be cautious it's SHARP! We'll now it's your turn to shown us your "it's the new green" work!
Here are the additional challenges this card is included in:
Artful Inkables  Birthday Card
Creative Card Crew  Going Dotty (various brads and buttons)
La- La- Land Recycling
Frosted Designs  Background Stamping (I stamped on the corrugated cardboard)
Saturday Spotlight   Slick (the Aluminum can stars are pretty slick!
Little Red wagon  Copics (mine are actually Prismacolor alcohol based markers)

                 Happy St. Patrick's Day!

It's so distressing!

Good morning! I hope you a slept well, I for whatever reason pulled the snooze alarm into my dream and went with it and woke up 20 minutes later than normal! My kiddos are now sucked into this ginormous whirlwind scampering to get ready for school! Distressing is right up my alley today which is great considering how my day has started! Your Next Stamps Challenge   is a perfect way to blow of some steam and take it out on those cards! So distress away! Here is my example:

I chose to work with Fhiona and Her Pony Maggie  and decided to distress by not only taking away but adding ink as well.

As always, we have 2 fabulous prizes for you to win: Please see all details HERE.

1. Winner – one lucky winner, chosen by random.org, will win $10 in YNS Stamp Bucks (to spend on YNS stamps) and the Winner Blinkie to proudly display on their blog!
2. Top Pick – one lucky entry, chosen by Cabio, will win $5 in YNS Stamp Bucks (to spend on YNS stamps) and the Top Pick Blinkie to proudly display on their blog! [You must use a YNS stamp on your creation to be eligible to win the Top Pick prize].

You will have until March 31st to enter over at the YNS Challenge Blog, hope you'll join us!

Well, how will you choose to distress? Can't wait to find out! Beth

May I have the Envelope please...

No, this isn't the Oscar's. It is however time for Torendi's Product Highlight! This month we'd like to give special attention  Kraft Coin Envelopes.

These babies are very affordable and easy to doll up! I have two examples to share and I'll start with a layout of my son on his first day of Preschool:

I had several small pictures that I wanted for the layout with out overcrowding so I utilized the envelopes to create some mini flip pages. Here are some details:

In side the envelopes I slipped in some memorabilia; he attempted to write his name its so cute!

The Kraft Coin Envelopes are perfect for gift card  or a gift of cash. I can't bear the thought of just handing either one of these over in a mundane package so creating a purse came to mind. Torendi has so many great papers and embellishments this was a blast to make!

I am really loving how this came out! I can't wait to find someone to give this to! I wished there were more hours in a day because I still want to create a tag book with these or fold them down the middle a stitch together for a mini album. Well that just about wraps it up.Thanks for stopping by and don't be afraid to push the envelope! Beth aka BR-T

Unscripted Saturday's Sketch # 46

Oh I am so excited my DH just drove off with my kiddos until tomorrow! It's just me and all me today which is great because there is tons of crafting to be done! Ok so on with the show we have a super great sketch
today at Unscripted Sketches created by uber talented Sarah Kaye. Thanks again Sarah you are the best!

Here is my card using my ever loved Ginger Ketto:

She is so adorable a a true hair pin artist! I am back to my old tricks with the white ink on black as I finally ordered a re inker from Close to My Heart. I forgot how white this ink is! A dry ink pad needs to be put up until something can be done about it. I also bought a Memento Tuxedo Black re inker man has that made all the difference in the world!
Ok last week I did not comment on any of your talented work and I am so terribly sorry, there is no excuse for that! I will not make this same mistake again... I hope you will play along this week so I can have the opportunity to stop by and see a bit of you in US! Get Inky Fingers,They Rule! Beth aka BR-T
