Unscripted Sketches # 33

Well did you survive Black Friday? I stayed home and played with my kiddos it was a great time! I did make a small purchase and buy a few Swiss Pixies Digis from All That Scraps.
I cannot believe I bought digi's that is a big step for me! It's Saturday as you know and that means a brand new Funtastic sketch from Unscripted Sketches jut for you!

Isn't this terrific? It screamed layout to me and I so need to do layouts so when the inclination arises I don't argue! Here is my take for this week:

Isn't Oscar too cute on those ginormous (I love it that that's a real word!) pumpkins? That very well may be my only picture from the pumpkin patch as my desktop crashed and burned big time last night! I cannot think about all the pictures... It is what it is! I hope you can play along again this week I saw some amazing work last week! We love your inspiration it is what makes US! Beth aka BR-T

Happy Friday to you! Have you tackled the Black Friday Scam-a-rama yet? I say this because my husband is already angry about a purchase he made in the wee hours of the morning... buyers beware if it's sound too good to be true it is! Remember commercializing Christmas only empowers the companies who drain us of our powers and resources everyday! It's only stuff and we can't take it with us... Now if were talking about Scrap booking my whole monologue earlier is void and Null!

Why not stay at home and complete some challenges you wanted to do earlier this week but time got away from you! Paper Cutz has a little gift this week for you make whatever your heart desires!!! Here is my card:

I need to resupply my Birthday Thank You stock plus get a bunch created to refill those card tins I made last year for my Mom and MIL...I know it's not store bought but it's a true gift because it hurts a little as I invest my time and my passion for these. I know you do to! So show us your card totally up to you! Beth

Last minute card for two Challenges...

I have been meaning to do this card all week but it didn't happen til now. I am a sucker for Kraftin Kimmies stamps especially the Moonlight Whispers collection! Crazy 4 Challenges is sponsored by Kimmie this month so you have a chance to win some stamps you need to use acetate. On Kraftin Kimmie's blog Circles are the theme so I combined the two for this card:

I stamped the cute cupcakes onto small acetate circles and added orange Stickles but they just didn't pop like i had imagined so I cut off the corner of the card affixed some acetate and stamped the cupcake anD Happy Birthday on the inside of the card. For a tad more bling I used the Stickles on the acetate so it's to the left and right of the inside sentiment. Well that it for tonight, don't forget to stop by Unscripted Sketches tomorrow for a brand new terrific Sketch! Good night BR-T

Thankfully its Friday!

Happy Friday! It's another fantastic Challenge at Paper Cutz the theme is Thanksgiving! I love everything about Thanksgiving in relation to food! I seemed to however, never been moved to but a turkey image gasp I know...so how about a snowman instead! He looks pretty thankful wouldn't you say? I am really excited about the sentiment because I finally figured out how to create the circle sentiment on my old Microsoft Word program. Perhaps now I can create some watermarks with pizzaz!

The image is one of the Your Next Stamp's limited edition of digital stamps. They are fantastic! Well I hope your Friday is the start of a Craftastic Weekend! Beth aka BR-T

If you want a chance to win some fun stamps you need to check their sight out by clicking here! This weeks challenge is to create a card with a "Be Thankful" theme and if you don't own any of their awesome stamps that's ok, use what you own! Here is the best part if you join this weeks sketch, Karen will send you one of the YNS limited edition digital images free! They are too cute for words! Check them out here! Here is my altered mini lunch box for the challenge using one of the fabulous digis:

Isn't Skating Ellie the cutest! I printed her off approx 2 x 3 inches, that's my newest discovery with digis you can print whatever size you want! I was also concerned about bleeding but that hasn't been a problem. Well that's all for now! Beth

Inky Impressions Design Team Call...

I have been an avid fan of Crystal for some time now and she is the Senior Design Team Member for Inky Impressions Rubber Stamps. She posted a Guest Design Team Call! Click here for all the details! One of the criteria for trying out for the position is to play along with the challenge of creating an ornament. I don't own any of their stamps bummer I know but I enjoy gazing upon them non the less. Here is my creation:

I think this turned out quite nice, believe me I started over so many times it feels good to finally be pleased! I used Calliope Ketto image and colored her with my Prismacolor markers. I printed off "Fairy Christmas" (I couldn't resist!) not sure of the font. The black frame is Basic Grey, I sanded off some of the black down to the silver for visual interest. I added a layer of acetate cut with my Cricut using the Celebrations cartridge and then embossed using Swiss Dots. I suppose I could have stopped there but I had an urge to go on like always and backed up the project with Sweet Leaf card stock which is my favorite Close To My Heart Green! I'm not sure if Calliope is carrying a purse or if that is an ornament I do know I added some dots of liquid glass and glittered that tree up as well as the others. Finally which I should have done prior to affixing the acetate I managed to add the ribbon which also happens to be from Basic Grey. I still have on more project I need to complete in order to try for this team, you have until the 24th to get your submission in! Also Crystal Is has some AMAZING Blog Candy up for grabs go see for yourself! I hope you enjoy your Wednesday! Beth aka BR-T

I found the red and greens again...

Yippie! I am this weeks guest designer at Tuesday Taggers! Red, Gold & Green is the theme this week, so I went for a more "traditional" Christmas card.

I love the joy on this card, it's from a long since retired stamp set from Close To My Heart called Joy. The rest of the images are from Squiggle Stamps this is the Christmas Elves Kit. I really don't know what to think about the black tree, I wanted the elves to stand out is all. Well I hope you have a terrific Tuesday! Beth

The Sugar Bowl...

****second post for the day scroll down for more****

No I'm not talking about football, I'm making reference to a challenge site hosted by Sugar Nellie Stamps called The Sugar Bowl! I was fortunate enough to win 6 of these stamps so why not show my appreciation by supporting their blog! Remember my candy? I am sacrificing big time and parting with Bunny (I had to flip them all face down and pick one blindly)it's a fantastic image!

The image on this card is called Bashful I love her eyes, she not too cute but in no way ugly! Does that make sense, I hope so. I used my Prismacolor markers, I see some improvement but realize there is a need of a lot more practice! Well you still have a few days to submit to their challenge, there is a goodie bag up for grabs so go ahead! Beth

An un red and green Christmas ...

Did you know Your Next Stamp has a challenge sight? Well you do now! This weeks challenge is to set the red and green aside and use some of those funky non traditional papers instead! If you use one of their stamps you have a chance to win the cutest set this week. Here is my take:

OK it may be a stretch to call this a Christmas card but it has some of the elements I swear! Do you see the two seahorses kissing under the Mistletoe, ok maybe it's holly but you get it right? In a nut shell it's the only stamp set of theirs I currently own. I did sneak in the tiniest spot of red but she had to have this hat! I hope you enjoy my not so Christmas card! Have a great Monday! Beth

Mystery Monday...

Pattern Me Not is the challenge at the Club Anya Blog as well as Tuesday Taggers which means gulp...no Patterned Paper!!! You cannot create your own patterned paper either, I love a challenge like this! Here is my card:

I used a ton of layered die cuts to try to bring this card up to the level of business I strive for, what do you think? Do you think a child would like this? I can think of at least one that would so I also entered this into the All Sorts challenge. You have until noon tomorrow to submit you card at Club Anya so what are you waiting for? Who knows? Perhaps you'll win the Ian/ Anya stamp of your choice. Good Luck!!! Beth

Unscripted Sketch # 31

Can I get a Whoop Whoop! Saturday is here again, and we all know why that's so fabulous right? You got it, another amazing sketch for Unscripted Sketches has been drummed up and this week we can thank SarahKaye.

I chose another Diane Duda image, a stamp can only go neglected for so long! Girl Friday by Cosmo Cricut is the patterned paper line I used and it is so fun! I really want to hoard it but that is something I or should I say we need to get over eh? The flowers were created by using Blossom Nestabilities and layering it with the fun shape from Snowflake Wonder and running it through the Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dot folder. I added spacers and brads for that extra somethin' -somthin'. I received some spacer as candy a while back along with a card using the spacers, such a impact these create! WoW! The sentiment is from Close To My Heart's set called Treasures of the Heart and finally the ribbon is Basic Grey.
I hope you find my card pleasing go check out the rest of the amazing creations from the US design team you wont be disappointed! I am off for now but will be back soon as I get recharged from checking out all your amazing creations!!! Ink it up! Beth

Well we have made to Friday once again, and with the new day is a brand new challenge from Paper Cutz which is to use a digi or hand stamped image on your card. The world is your oyster folks make a pearl!

I choose to use Savannah from The Greeting Farm isn't she a real treat? I love these stamps because they are relatively simple to color, and not too many tight spots. Well now it's your turn pick any image you fancy and have fun! Beth

Defining moments...

I haven't liked cats for years that is, until I crossed paths with her:

Isn't she a cutie? She was a stray lingering around a house with no intention to care for her. Her eyes were matted shut and she just reeked of infection, it was actually nauseating to me. Can you believe I was going take her to the Humane Society? I was certain she had Feline Leukemia ans she had to be put down (Shudder I know). Well I had my defining (redefining more like it) and rather than having her destroyed I took her to the vet and had her tested she's negative. She does have an ear infection and a cold so I give her eye drops and antibiotic twice a day, she's worth it! I named her Epiphany she's about 7 weeks old and so sweet, she starts purring when you get close to her. She melts my heart! If you have an outdoor cat you need to spay or neuter them not every kitten gets a chance at life and they go out in a harsh way!

Here is my card for the night, not as cute as a kitten but it will have to do!

I wanted to created a card for several challenges can you guess what the most of them are?
Penny's Challenges *wintry theme with use of gems and ribbon.
Creative Card Crew *doodling
The Pink Elephant *Thankful
Cupcake Craft Challenges*Snow Much Fun
Simon Says* Give Thanks
Cuttlebug Challenges* Thanksgiving or Gratitude

Well I hope you have a great evening, I'm working on a couple cards to post from my awesome kit I received from Torendi called A Taste of Torendi. It's $5.00 off right now and shipping is always and only $5.00! Go check out there other great sales too just by clicking here.

Kraftin Kimmies Guest Dt call...

Hello, I hope you all are having a terrific weekend so far. We certainly are here, it's November in the mid-west yet it was 70 degrees today! I love Indian summers! I was checking out the new Moonlight Whisper series from Kraftin Kimmies when I noticed she has a blog. I just had to scope it out and low and behold she's having a guest designer call! Oh my gosh my heart was racing and my mind was soaring, I knew I had to give it a try.

This is Charlotte aren't her curls beautiful? She is a real delight to color and I decided to try a few techniques with my Prismacolor markers. I used this color scheme because of the Basic Grey
challenge this week using a photo for inspiration. Saturday Spotlight With Hidden Potential wants to see an image used more than once and I stamped Charlotte's dolly randomly on the backdrop. AllSorts challenges you to bring out your bling I tossed on a handful of dewdrops to polish the card up a bit. I hope you like it! Have a great day! Br-t

Saturday is here again, as well as another fantastic sketch from Unscripted Sketches to you! This sketched was created by card making extraordinaire Keri Lee.

Here is my creation:

Isn't this stamp set adorable, I love the mermaid! This set is from Your Next Stamp company. I paper pieced her tail and the shells, it's one of my favorite techniques. Another is rubbing metallic paints over embossed areas it really makes a statement. I left the inside blank for whatever occasion may arise. Well that's all for now, I hope you play along at Unscripted Sketches this week! Beth

What's Black and White with Blue and Green all over?

This weeks Challenge over at Paper Cutz that's what and best part is there are so many shades of green to choose from. I went for a bright citrus Green so I could used some great felt ribbon I won a while back. Here's what I came up with:

Oops! I forgot the blue!!!

I tossed a lot of components into the mix but I feel that's acceptable due to the controlled color scheme. You should know I really enjoyed your creations last week, thanks for taking the time to share and inspire. I hope you have a chance to play along again this week! Have a great day ! Beth aka BR-T

Spooktacular...

Wow! Did you have a great night of festivities last night? We had a blast with our children! I came home a created my final "Spooktacular" card for the night, my internet was down so I thought I'd post this morning! I realize it's rather gruesome but that's half the fun taking these images from sweet to saucy! For Halloween that is, I'm not always this twisted...really

These two images are the Happy Chef and Cake Topper from the Greeting Farm. I hope you all have a great day and don't forget I have some candy to offer just click on the picture on the right! Beth aka BR-T
