And the winners are...

Yippie! PC Gallery Idols have been posted for all to see, I was cut bummer... If it weren't for the challenge I wouldn't have some nifty cards and killer techniques. All the patterns and backgrounds were created by me except a few small basic grey swatches in the 5th card. The goal is to grow and nurture these techniques beyond the expected! Here are my favorites I made:

A day with Basic Grey...

So I purchased a stamp set made by Basic Grey because it looked interesting and because it proudly displayed it was made in the U.S.A.! My whole drive home I was a doubting Thomas not sure if I picked the right set, you know how it goes. Wow! This set can give off so many looks:

She Challenges Us All...

Marjorie from the CTMH bb has frequent color challenges, these are great as they give people the opportunity to work outside their comfort zones. Let's face it we all have a select group of colors that seem to bedazzle us and can easily take over our entire color palette on everything! Marjorie's color challenge #24 is: Ocean, Breeze, Orange, Citrus Leaf, and the option of tossing in yellow. This is what I came up with:

Don't worry this week will fly bye...

So for all of you who took a chance and entered into the Paper Crafts Gallery Idol contest I wish you nothing but happy results! I've been looking at many of the cards and all I can say again is WOW! I would be ecstatic to make the first round but I am not holding my breath, from what I calculated there are over 700 entries so far and there is 2 hours to go. My husband is astounded that I entered 10 cards he accused me of being obsessive compulsive. Guilty as charged, but hey I made some seriously edgy creations I'd love to share, next week...I'm once again in a position to show not so recent stuff. Have a great night if you're not already sleeping.

Final Call...

Ok Fellow creators today ( as it's nearly 2 am!) is the final call for the PC Gallery Idol submissions!!! I'm really excited about some things I entered but WOW the art I'm up against...I have no new cards to show so I'll show a few blasts from the past. These were all inspired from the sights and scenes on a cruise I went on last August with my husband ! Love ya Billums!

I had a request to post lay outs that have been previously posted on another bb so, from time to time I will do so. This is one of my messy little fellow, Oscar.

The Children Gave Back to Me!!!

Today our wee ones from VBS made two different kinds of sun catchers; the usual plastic variety to paint on and the coffee filter and food coloring kind. I have to say the coffee filter left an impression on me, it was fantastic watching the dye spread across the fiber of the filter. Thanks kiddo's because of you I created these cards tonight:

Methodical...

So this week is VBC here in Palmyra NE. & Beach Party Surfing the Word is our theme. I get to help the wee ones make their crafts which is really fun to watch them work quite methodically. I witnessed several surfboards start off a primary red, yellow, or blue then slowly transform into that purple brown one gets from mixing all the colors. It doesn't bother them however because it's their handiwork, I tried to steer my own son Oscar away from this inevitable ending but to no avail.
I took from the whole experience to come up this card I suppose adding layer upon layer of ink until I got my own desired look of brown. I also used a different approach with the circle template of the Coluzzle it's not just for circles.

Journey...

Color challenges have always intrigued me but this is my first attempt at one. The colors are Chocolate, Goldrush, Holiday Red, Crystal Blue & Sunflower (which was the optional color).I chose Journey as the theme as I feel I'm about to embark on a Journey of my own. I am the dragon fly soaring high above searching for that perfect reed to settle upon and start anew...

Crossroads...

Life is funny isn't it? I cannot say why moments play out the way they do,they just do. I do know I seem to thrive on complexity and unease it's what keeps my passion for creativity on fire! I see so much amazing work everyday, simple yet bold and I wonder, is their life just so in that there is clarity with that single mark? Often I have wanted that but I've been dealt something much different. My life...

Here is a grouping of cards that couldn't express my world any better I used the Masking Technique to create a 12x12 black and white collage from there I created 10 unique cards. I cannot say exactly how, these cards just seem to come together almost like I'm not doing it myself. I have no master plan it just happens, my mom thinks it's kinda scary I think it's pretty cool. There are no expectations only creations. BR-T
