Space Cadet...

During parent teacher conferences I learned both of my kiddos though quite brilliant (in a mother's words!), have a tendency to space out! My husband and myself are both notorious for this sort of behavior so how does one deal with this? We let it go...

I created this card for three challenges Paper Cutz wants at least 3 buttons, CardALicious wants a Birthday card using Red Blue and Yellow and Three Clovers Designs wants a # on the card. Have a great Wednesday! I may not be posting much else as I am preparing for this Saturdays World Card Making Day Blog Hop from Unscripted Sketches so bare with me! Beth aka BR-T

I am so thrilled!

I have known about this collection of stamps since they were released in June by Diane Duda designed for Sugar Nellie and loved the girls demeanor "sugar and spice but not too nice" . Well I was randomly picked for one of three prizes over at Double Dutch challenges and I am on cloud 9! If you have never tried a challenge of theirs now is the time! This weeks challenge is to create a shaped card and the design team came up with some wonderful ideas! Have a great night and inky dreams... Beth aka BR-T

Come celebrate World Card Making Day with US...

As most everyone knows instinctively ( I had to be told) World Card Making Day is this Saturday October 3rd, how awesome is that!?! Unscripted Sketches will be hopping on the band wagon and participating in our first ever Blog Hop I am so excited to say the least! We will forgo the sketch for the week and create totally unscripted cards! Candy you wonder? Yes, some of the design team members will indeed have candy, I can't tell you which one's, you'll just have to stop by each and see! I will post little reminders throughout the week in the mean time have a great day! Beth

After 3 days its done...

Granted it wasn't the entire three days but wow this card was labor intensive, I love how it turned out so it's all worth it! I uploaded 4 pictures to give you the grand view of things:

Isn't that fun! I got the card idea from Double Dutch challenges, it's a fun file folder design. I think it's the perfect card, bookmark combo ever! Paper Play challenge was "Spot This",Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge is Animal Antics, One Stop Craft wants "Die Cuts", and Moving Along with the Times has a "Strictly Sparkling" theme to go along with a sketch which I created a very loose interpretation of, and Frosted Designs wants you to Ink/Chalk it up, and finally, The Pink Elephant has a Recipe Challenge of Spots Punches and Tags I know technically it's a book mark but it's tag shaped right?
Well it's a fun start for me to a whole new week I hope your Monday is fabulous and inky fingered! Beth

Unscripted Sketches Saturday # 25 and I did a ...

Layout! Whoa, hard to believe! I don't think I have done a layout for 3 months which is really sad considering I started out as a scraper for years and years! Here, let me show you:

I love scrapping it's just that cards are so precious to me, their scale is smaller not easier, but they really tickle my fancy! Our sketch is fabulous this week but it didn't say card to me and there was this fun photo of my kiddos that jumped into my mind so I knew it was layout time. Here's this weeks sketch #25 for Unscripted Sketches:

Here is what I came up with:

Not many layers but a lot going on none the less, I have a sweet tooth and my children inherited this from me! Luckily they didn't get my childhood crappy teeth as they all got a clean bill of health from the dentist today! I can't wait to see what you come up with for our newest sketch when you put a little of you in us! Beth

It pays to stay up way late!

I just thought I'd take a peeksie over at TGF'S Farm Fresh Friday posting and discovered I won last weeks card challenge "Emboss It"! I am weak in the knees I tell ya', I suppose it could be because the caffeine has finally worn off or perhaps I am so darned thrilled! I will be receiving one of their newest set releases Cute Troop In honor of all our Little Troopers out there. We are getting our first grader in on the Scouting action so I am doubly excited! Have an amazing rest of the day, yes I can say that at 12:15 am! Beth aka BR-T

Hump Day...

Another week about to leave us in the dust, time flies when you're having fun especially when your creating! I made a card I'm pretty excited to share it has an out side and an inside duh I guess most cards do! You know what I mean! Here it is:

This card meets the criteria for a few challenge sights first of all Sparkle has a Challenge sight to create Christmas or Holiday cards, she's trying to help folks get a head start on cards rather than panic and mayhem!
Penny's Challenge is All About The Birds now I realize my card isn't all about just birds but I love my birdies included on this card! AllSorts challenges us to use Snowflakes in September and La-La Land wants Paper Piecing and Crafty Creations wants a window! Well I hope you enjyed your visit, hope to see you soon! Beth aka BR-T

I entered a sketch last week At Cute Card Thursday and the random drawer thingy picked #50 and that was me!!! Isn't that stamp set cute! I can't wait to get it!

I don't get it...

Football that is, not much of a fan either. It's all good, there are plenty-o-folks who aren't yazzed up about my interests either. Here is my card for the day no rhyme or reason and no challenge either...shocking I know! Have a touchdown of a day, keeping in mind of safety without interferance or pentalties aiming high for a goal! Beth aka BR-T

Oh happy day...

I am really getting into the coloring world,I use Prismacolor Markers and I really enjoy them! I had great fun making this card, I scoped out my list of challenges yet to do and was able to cross out quite a few with this card.

Starting with a sketch I found at Card Patterns isn't this a great sketch, also Laurel S is a designer for the sight and I love her creations! Next on my list is Stamp Scrap & Doodle Saturdays challenging us to use oranges and blues. Go check out the picture they posted for inspiration as well as another amazing creator Crystal who is their guest designer this week! The Corrosive Challenge Blog asks for a kid's birthday theme and Charisma Cardz wants Flower Power, Anyone For Anya also wants Funky Flowers Stamp Something wants us to use either our favorite color combos or papers, this patterned paper is on my tops list and almost gone, thank the Lord my local store is having 50% off paper this week! Pile It On wants the use of punches and Farm Fresh Fridays wants to see embossing! So I mixed all of that up and came up with this:

I hope you all have a wonderful week full of creativity! Beth aka BR-T

Also Kelly, one of Unscripteds Amazing DT members is giving away this yummy Halloween Candy!

Unscripted Sketch # 24

This is my 2nd post for the day scroll down for next entry...

It's Saturday, and that means a brand new sketch from Unscripted Sketches and I am telling you the DT creations are the most amazing I have seen! I am not saying I don't enjoy all their work but for what ever the reason the creative juices will spilling out all over the place go check them out!

Here is my take on the sketch, this was a play and play some more card!

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and come on and put a little of you in US! Beth aka BR-T

Seriously Challenged Card...

Ok, it's 3 am so maybe I'm losing it but I am thinking this card hits on 10 challenges! First off I used the Inspirational Card Sketch # 34 as the foundation of the card:

BasicGrey Challenges wants to see embossing, Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge wants a female persuasion, Creative Inspirations wants the colors: Purple, Lilac and Grey, Paper Cutz Challenge wants a Christmas themed card with lots of BLING , speaking of bling, Paper Blooms wants bling while Penny's Challenge wants Scallops. La-La Land Crafts wants to see the use of at least 3 different kinds of embellishments.

Cute Card Thursday wants the hidden element and Paper Play says to Tag it.

I did it! A perfect 10! Well 10 anyhow...Beth

Painters Pain...

Oh my gosh my feet are dog tired! I used to love painting rooms, used too...

I have two cards to share with you that I created in the wee hours this morning. The first is a Halloween themed card for Stamp Simply while using the 2RedBananas sketch.

The second card uses the Taylored Expressions sketch as well as Our Creative Corners challenge to use fall colors.

I really want to dive into my TGF images however I am holding out til my Prismacolor markers arrive so I have a better range to choose from. Well I'd love to stay and chat however I have a paint mess I need to attend to before my kiddos return from grandmas. Have a great evening...no doubt I'll be back to scope the blog scene later tonight! Beth

To pray or prey...

The Praying Mantis is my absolute most favorite bug their whole demeanor demands respect! This Lady mantis, for instance is quite magnificent not to mention rather large. I believe she's 4-5 inches and her abdomen full of eggs I'd surmise. Only time will tell! I believe we have about three of these in our yard and many dwarf versions as well, they are splendid bug eaters though it's gruesome to witness. Hey we all gotta eat! Well I'm off to paint my kiddos room some more but I'll post some cards later tonight...Beth

All I can say is wow!

2nd posting...

I received more images than imagined from my last plea of swapping images thank you Crystal, Sparkle and Lisa! And Sparkle you are a dear! Check out this awesome card she sent me with one of the most current Edward stamp from The Greeting Farm:

Isn't this card terrific, all Sparkle's cards rock! Her choice of patterned paper and layered buttons is fantastic, not to mention her awesome skill in shading him in! I had no idea I was getting this card it was the mega bonus!

I loved her sketch so I created a card using Skater Ian, granted I need a lot of practice in the coloring department but I'm still excited non the less!

Grace Girl Card...

I was so bummed that I had to forgo Penny's challenge due to the lack of pearls especially since I got some a mere 2 days later! I vowed I would not miss this weeks! I put a spin on it by including a formula from Card-A-Licious which is to use Red, Flowers and Ribbon.

I really like this card as tame as it may be, have a great day! Beth

Cards and snakes and a spider...

First off there are four cards I want to share followed by photos of snakes and a spider, just waring for those who don't care to view these photos!
As you know yesterday I received my blog candy and had the opportunity to play all day! I love new stuff especially free new stuff!

This first card was playing around with the 4 Brilliance ink pads by TSUKINEKO ,Blossom Nestabilities and opalines from Basic Grey. I am now a lover of the pearls, rather than using the flourish of pearls in one big bang I picked them off the sticker and laid them down one by one. this card reminds me of the night sky.

This card with sweet Maisy KETTO was experimenting mor with the Blossom Nestabilities ans making use of some of the lovely paper flowers that were sent. I even added tiny pearls to the square brads. I played along with the PaperPlay challenge of not using any patterned paper.

This card was simply experimental, there are parts I love and parts not so much.

Mojo Monday
# 103 the first sketch of the month, prize time!

I also incorporated a color challenge by Cute Card Thursday by using pink and green and also added several of my new founded love of pearls to this card for the Stamp Something challenge of using your favorite embellishment. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my cards have a great weekend, I know I will! And don't forget to stop by Unscripted Sketches tomorrow for a fresh new sketch as well as some jaw dropping inspiration!
