Ahoy there me hearties!

Oh yeah, yell it out loud with me it's Saturday/ Halloween! There really is no better weekday holiday combo. (With exception to Christmas!!!) Here is a great sketch from Unscripted Sketches to get the juices flowing:

Here is my card:

I based this sketch around a stamp I had yet to use, Pirate Ian. He is such a cutie pie, I love the flouncy shirt! I had to pull out my canvas for this I feel it's what makes the card. It's regular canvas you buy from a fabric store nothing special. I had to go over the Happy Birthday sentiment in a fine tipped permanent marker due to the texture but besides that the imperfect stamping looks aged. Well, now that I have shared mine be sure to check out the rest of the design teams creation! And after that why not make something to share with US? We really enjoy viewing your interpretations! Have an inky day and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! Beth aka BR-T

Torendi news flash...

The Torendi poll has been taken down as there was a tiny snafu! I will keep you posted as things arise...don't worry this will work itself out! We don't really control anything in life, we just have to put this in perspective! Beth aka BR-T

Are you seeing stars?

Finally it's Friday, this has been a drag on kind of week full of responsibilities and dead lines but it's coming to a halt....Thank you Jesus if then is!
Paper Cutz Challenge has a great challenge this week to use STARS, who doesn't love stars?

I chose to use the stamp set Reach For The Stars from Close to My Heart, isn't that rocket man just out of this world? I also dusted off my baby Cricut and the Wild Card cartridge to create the fun star collage. The rest is just bits and bobs I had collecting even more dust...
I really enjoy designing for a sketch based challenge sight a multi challenge based sight it really mixes it up for me! Well enough about me it's time for you to reach for the stars and when your feet touch the ground zap your creation over to the Paper Cutz Challenge blog! Have a cutting edge day! Beth aka Beth

Mega Halloween Challenges...

Halloween is in the air and in the cards. Ok, so I didn't make a card tonight, but there were several challenge sights that wanted treat holders so I thought I'd give it a shot. What is up with the giant writing?!?

That's better. This creation is probably my own personal record of challenges conquered for the simple fact so many sites wanted Halloween or Halloween Colors. Here is the list:
  1. Humble Pie - non card Halloween creation
  2. Penny's Challenges - Halloween
  3. Stamp Something - Halloween Somethings
  4. Tuesday Taggers - Things that go Bump in the Night...Boo!
  5. Cupcake Craft Challenge - Things that go Bump in the Night
  6. My Time To Craft - Halloween Colors
  7. Color Chef Challenge - Black, Orange, Purple, Green & White
  8. Crafty Creations _ All Hallow's Eve
  9. Paper Makeup Stamps Blog - Black, White, Orange & Purple
  10. Cuttlebug Spot - Trick or Treat Wrappers
  11. Cute Card Thursday - Candy Corn!
  12. Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential - Sweet Treats
  13. Frosted Designs - Make it Pop
  14. ABC Challenge - F is for Flying
  15. Daring Cardmakers - A few of my favorite things: The stamp image though slightly altered GUS, brads, the spiderweb cut with the Cricut, the bats (they are amazing bug eaters!) and the candy corn!
Well there you have it but this is nothing I was visiting a blog where a creator used 40 challenges for one card!!! WOWZERS!!! Well that's all for now have a wonderful Sunday and ink it up! Beth

Unscripted Sketch # 28

Good Morning World!!! How are your creative minds flowing today? Mine? Well mashed potatoes!!! I am not worried I'll just check out some amazing inspiration and things will start flowing again. This weeks sketch at Unscripted Sketches was kind of tricky for me, I don't know why.

Here is my card:

I new the image to use right away My friend Dotty Jo and I swapped some images and she sent me several of these lovely images. She is so sweet staring out the window. The rest of the cars making process was chaos I like the result just not what it took to get there! Well I hear crying upstairs so I'm off to check it out!!! Beth

Pink Elephant Challenge...

*******second posting today please scroll down

I was stopping by scoping out all the awesome creations and my blogging friend Dotty Jo used a fabulous sketch from this weeks The Pink Elephant so I had do make a card! Here is the lovely sketch:

Here is my card:

Don't you just love the image! I never just buy stamps when I see a person creating with them (until perhaps the next day!!!) but this image called to me! It took me about two seconds to figure out these are from the Moonlight Whispers series from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, her name is Francesca. I think it would be worth your time to check out the other images as well! Have a great day and INK up!!! Beth aka BR-T

It's Friday!!! How great is it to read those two words? Of Course Thursday was quite wonderful if I might add. I received not one but two blog candy packages and the kiddos and I were in heaven!!! So again a big Thank You to Kelly and Jenn for sharing! I combined a little from each of your treats to create my card For the Paper Cutz Challenge. This week we'd love to see you use three different patterned papers. Have fun with this, what a great way to use up some scraps, or create new ones it's your card!!! And here is my card:

Poor Tobias went crazy with the catnip, don't worry I'm sure it will shed off eventually! Two of the three pattern papers are done up in the paper piecing of all the trees while the third is the framing of the card. I hope you enjoyed your visit and will leave Paper Cutz a link to your fabby creation as well.

On to round two...

Yippie!!! Thanks to you I made it to the next round of Torendi's People's Choice Challenge! I want you to know this is the craziest thing I have ever attempted in the crafting/blogging world. I am quit cozy having my blogging buddies stop by and leave some love this is crazy trying to campaign yourself out! Seriously! I also felt my first submission was going to be my best and I didn't think I would be able to top it! Maybe I did, maybe I didn't any how on with the show! Here is my latest entry, I'd like you to meet...

Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto, domo...domo Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto, domo...domo Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto, domo...domo Thank you very much, Mr. Roboto

So, am I dating myself? In high school this song was hot, I remember a class mate named Monica, she was the biggest Stix fan I knew, or should I say know! Monica if your out there I can appreciate your still loving this band just as long as you have changed your hair!

Speaking of hair I posted this closeup so you could see I gave my robot friend hair. While trimming down his mouth I noticed it was creating the most awesome curl and I knew I had to use it somewhere. The other components used are wire, washers, paper clips, watch parts brads, the foil from a disposable baking pan, part of the pop tabs (on the shoes) and these flat metal circles my husband says are for roofing. They were initially gold but that sands right off. In order to create the black I rubbed them onto my Stazon ink pad dried with my heat gun then scratched away areas and sanded some more.

To try to get more press I got involved with some Challenges for this card they are as follows:

Creative Inspiration - #on the card
Charisma Cardz- Distressing
Creative Card Crew geared for a baby or child
Paper Play- favorite embellishment I love brads!!!
Gingersnap Creations -Brads
Whimsy Stamps Challenge- Embossing I used my embossing tool to create the control panel on my robot
Stamp Something - Bling (Mr. Roboto has no glitter but he's shiny none the less!)
If the Shoe Fits - bling

Well there you have it I hope you like is best if so please go to Torendi and vote for me! PS if you really like my card it would be awesome if you'd spread the word!

VOTE VOTE VOTE

Good Morning! Today is a the big day over at Torendi I am competing for a spot as a design team member, I say competing because there are 11 others who desire the same thing and their work is fierce! It's voters choice which will be carried out for several weeks until two are left. This is what I created using Cosmo Cricuts new line Earth Love for this weeks entry.
I didn't want to compete with the fun prints by using stamps (this time!) so this all about my paper cutter a few circle punches and my trusty scissors.

I hope you can make a Torendi stop and cast your vote hopefully for me!!! Shameless I know! Beth aka BR-T

I finally was able to play with my Squiggle Stamps today called Christmas Elves Kit I love them!!! I incorporated three challenges in this card Stamp Something wants you to use brown I love this brown card stock I used it's so very dark and rich looking, I swear it's not black!!!! Cute Card Thursday wants a charm, I used the fun snowflake charm that was included with this stamp set as well as the festive papers too. I also used Artful Inkables who wants glitz and glamor and this card just sort of lent itself to the idea so I used my gold pen quite liberally and added some crystals as well. I hate to brag but...

I won more candy and I received top 5 at The Pink Elephant along with a stamp set donated last week and I am pumped! Check this out:

Did you see the Doodle Factory Images I am freaking out!!! There is also a stamp not shown his name is Gus and he is the cutest ladybug ever! Jenn from Confessions Of A Scrapaholic set me up big time. There is also some amazing CTMH products and a great card gift set! Jenn happens to be a DT member for Starving Artistamps specifically Doodle Factory as well as a CTMH consultant. I felt a little bad though because someone else was originally picked but after a week no one contacted her so she redrew my number! Don't worry the guilt will pass quickly. Speaking of candy I noticed I have over 100 followers and 15,000 hits! I am gathering goodies as we speak so stay tuned for my candy reveal...Beth aka BR-T

My first Kraft card ever...

I'm not kidding I have never made a card with kraft card stock, I realized I had a small stash from way back when I used to print pictures onto it, try it it's fabulous! Well I'm branching out today thanks to All Sorts and their "Kraft" challenge. I used the sketch from 2Sketches4You this time when I realized they have a chance to win some Doodle Factory stamps and you know how much I love them! Here is the sketch this week:

Pile It On
wants a dimensional quality to the card so I popped up my skiing Yapples for fun. Here is the result:

I kind of fancy this card hope you do to have a great rest of the day and ink up those fingers! Beth aka BR-T

A Fantastic New and Fresh blogger...

*****Second posting scroll down for more...

I want to introduce you all to an amazing card creator Tanya from Random Acts Of Krafting she is relatively new to the blogging world but I'm pretty sure not to paper crafting. The first card that caught my eye can be seen here and it's been nothing but inspiration since then! Don't you just love how she used the fibers to create the jet release from the rocket? I think it's brilliant! She's also is a fan of Doodle Factory so even more kudos to her!

Tanya is giving away her first ever blog candy, check it out:

What fun huh? Go say howdy to this amazing woman and spread the sunshine! Beth aka BR-T

Green hair...

A fairy can have green hair right? This card is for several challenges: The Basic Grey Challenge has a multi-layered Sketch, If The Shoe Fits..Scrap It wants the colors lime green, pink and black, Frosted Designs wants to see flourishes I used the flourishes embossing folder which also qualifies for the ABC Challenes E for "embossing". Well that about it, have a great day! Beth aka BR-T

Hopping along the Unscripted version of the World Card Making Blog Hop...

***BLOG CANDY NOW CLOSED WILL DRAW SUNDAY AFTERNOON!***

How amazing to have a recognized day for creating cards! I can't think of anything more fabulous(out side my immediate family)! We mulled it over how we as the Unscripted Team could help celebrate this momentous day and with much enthusiasm we decided to do a blog hop, my first ever! If you didn't come from Aymee's Blog you may want to start at the very beginning at the Unscripted Sketches Blog where a listing of the designers path is laid out for you!

I created cards using techniques I had on my to-do list using the word Card as my guide C is for using my dusty ole' Coluzzle, I believe this baby is almost extinct but it still has value:

A is the Acrylic on Acetate, this was really fun I just kept adding and scratching away til it looked right!

R is for Recessed Window now this card was tricky for me with all the true measurements needed!

And D is for can-D! This is my first candy ever offered, just leave a comment and on Sunday I will disclose the winner!

I hope you were inspired and to let you know the Techniques I used came from the SplitCoastStampers bulletin board, they give amazing tutorials so saps like me don't have to! I want to keep you on the yellow brick road so your next stop for awesome inspiration is Caryl! Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to make/give a card today! Beth aka BR-T
