My sketch is pretty straight forward just rotated a bit easy enough eh? All products are Close To My Heart except the dew drops they are Robin's nest who knew that little jar contained so many! Gotta love them...I simply cannot wait to see what you all have in store for us this week see you soon! BR-T

Midnight Madness Challenge #2...

First of all I'd like to applaud Midnight Madness Challenges they have really taken off and it's only their second week, you guys rock! Their challenge this week is really fantastic and the DT members creations are mind altering, check them out folks!
I chose to use a butterfly for this card it happens to be the April stamp of the month for Close To My Heart, I chose to use Tulip and Cocoa for my main colors and several variations of the two within the patterned paper. I modified the sketch just slightly to please my eye, I really enjoy the freedom this sight gives us, stop on over there to be amazed! I hope you all have a terrific evening... BR-T

I'm home with Unscripted Sketches #7...

I have two words of advise, never go camping on a holiday weekend also if a man pulls up with a van full of teenagers and ask you if the camp sight next to you is taken LIE!!!

So, I don't know about you but I am loving Unscripted Sketches #7 these ladies do a great job leaving them so open to interpretation....My inspiration is from an amazing Blog site called Glitter Adventure, she makes some of the most amazing lay outs I've ever come across and puts some great tutorials out there as well. I found her explosion box class and decided it was now or never!

Unscripted Sketch # 6...

It's Saturday yeeha, gotta love it! No work, no getting up early to get the kiddo's ready for school, but most importantly a brand new sketch from Unscripted Sketches just waiting for your creative minds!

I want you to know this was one of the easiest cards I've ever created thanks to my Baby Cricut and the Wild Card Cartridge. Don't you love triangular backdrop, I didn't buy this card for the creation of the cards but all the great features on it.
I cut out a 5 7/8 x 5 7/8 in piece of black card stock and adhered it to a white card stock base. I utilized the Cricut to cut out a 5 1/2 and a 3 in triangular backdrop. I layered onto several scraps of card stock, keep that stash visible to the eye so you'll use it! I used some flower brads I got 4+ years ago, some ribbon,a quartered circle, and a Happy Birthday sentiment. Oh yeah there are some thin strips os patterned paper on each side of the card just for the sake of doing it. I hope all the DT results set you off into creative mode, have a terrific day and go make something! Beth aka BR-T

Happy Mothers Day...

I hope everyone had a nice day, I was able to complete 3 cards so my day was perfect!
I, like most of the card and lo bloggers enjoy all the sketches going on out there but am having trouble doing all the ones I really want. I'm going to combine as many different sketches, color schemes and themes into one card as possible from here on out if it doesn't work out it's fine there is always next week...

This first card incorporates Stamp Something's Pink Birthday, The Pink Elephant's Circles & Scallops, A Spoon Full of Sugar's tactile and texture and also Card-A-Licious #21 wanting pink brown & scallops.

Our Creative Corner has a beautifully designed sketch. Wouldn't you agree?

I flipped it & opted to use circles rather than ovals because that way I didn't have to get out of my seat...

This final posting uses a fab sketch from Taylored Expressions sketch # 67, love it!

I also utilized Color Throwdown with their color palette of :

I feel this is an example of a cheer up card for Cute Card Thursday and Secret Saturday Crafter wants to make use of eyelets or brads or why not both for their challenge # 31.

Thanks for stopping by and make time to head over to Unscripted Sketches for there 5th Saturday challenge! Have a paper and ink filled week! Beth aka BR-T

Unscripted Sketches # 5

Welcome to another fun Unscripted Sketch challenge, this weeks was tricky for me, it seemed really straight forward but I rarely travel in a straight line.
My lovely daughter is my inspiration, one of my shining stars. She has a creative streak inside growing in strength, we are so blessed! This is a labor of love as she worked painstakingly on this painting of her family and our home. I want you to see Isabelle's picture in completion, My husband placed it in our bedroom, it's quite the conversation piece for us.

I haven't included a lay out in any challenges I've done anywhere so I decided now is the time. As for the LO I have no idea how to I came to this final result I just kept building on it...
Now it's your turn to get out there and make something!

I have been blessed again!

Wow the big guy upstairs is smiling down on me this week,he has perfect timing too!
Thank you so much Rosanne from A bit of life, Scrapbooking, and cooking. It's interesting to me I'd receive such an award because I personally haven't allowed myself to have real friends in some while, but that is changing for me with help from well my friends!
FRIENDS… comes with the following description to be added & passed along: “These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated.” It also says : “Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.”
I nominated these fellow creators due to the wealth of enthusiasm and encouragement they leave in comments to so many out there, myself included!
Sarah from Sarah's Paper Tray
Robin at Oh Scrap
Priscilla from Priscillastyles
Pat from Clever Crafting
Penny From A Work of Heart
Sandra from Sandra's cards & Scraps

A card finally...Mojo style

Wow Mojo Monday pulls out all the stops for their first of the month sketches wouldn't you agree? With Mothers Day in 2 days I thought what better way to celebrate than make a Fathers Day card!

Flowers...

The Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge site wants flowers and I love flowers so I knew this challenge was for me. I did this card in under an hour that is a record for me! I used the Cricut Wild Card cartridge for the flowers cuts, (I really like this cartridge for all the impressive cuts but since I only have the baby bug I don't make the cards themselves as the dimensions are relatively smaller than standard sized cards) I used the Cuttlebug for some embossing, layered the flower up a bit and added some dew drops. Easy Peasy!

Finally as promised a picture of the Robins, I cannot believe how big they have gotten! I noticed their skin really darkened plus feather shafts are protruding through on their extremities, changes happen fast when your a bird. Mom and dad bird are working 24/7 to keep these three fed what a job!

Don't sneeze at the bees...

While my hobbies are about creating things my husbands are geared towards creation...Bee's have really captivated his attention, it's easy to see why they are so busy! Today we went out to check on the hive, Bill who has never been stung, wears all the protective garb. I have been stung oodles of times so I'm pretty sure I am not allergic. Did you know it takes two incidences of being stung to realize whether you are allergic or not? I touched them, I actually placed my hand across the backs of 100+ bee's and they were fuzzy and warm, it was incredible, Bill thinks I'm crazy. Guilty as charged...

In this picture you can see a lot of things going on. The queen (not pictured) lays her eggs in a spiral shape on the frame beginning in the center. This is the bottom corner of the frame, but you can see that the upper right two thirds of the frame are capped off. Those were the first eggs she laid. When the eggs hatch, they become larvae, which you can see on the bottom left, the little curled up plump white guys in the cells. After they fatten up, the cell gets capped off, and they finish their transformation into adult bees. In the upper right corner, you can see a new worker bee just beginning to emerge from her cell. (Beth wants you to know that all the worker bees are female.) See the ones with the white fuzzy backs? Those are newly emerged (baby) bees. Towards the bottom center you can just see a drone, just the top half of his body. Drones are the male bees. There aren't very many of those. (Beth wants you to know they are worthless.) The hole in the corner of the frame is for them to travel through. Right in the center you can see two bees transferring nectar to each other. You can see their little tongue in the close-up view. (Just click on the pictures for a the bigger picture.) Aren't bees so much more interesting than cards?

Thank you Bill for on your insightful mini lecture on bee's now go get your own blog!

Unscripted Sketch # 4...

I cannot believe how quickly this past month has gone since Unscripted Sketches first debut! I must say what you folks came up with on the previous posts were quite inspiring, looking at how others view and interpret sketches is very exciting! And, was I not kidding when I said this would be an amazing sketch or what?!? I have no directions for this card except use your scraps!(after class today, I will try to add directions)The supplies are solid cs,images and inks by Close To My Heart, a white gelly roll pen, patterned paper by K&CoMPANY, dew drops by The Robins Nest, and metal ware by We R Memory Keepers. The tools used were large scalloped rectangle Nestabilities as well as a corner rounder to create the scalloped edge and piercing tool to create the tiny holes in the paper. So there it is, I am excited to see what you all come up! Beth aka BR-T

They're here...

The baby Robins hatched yesterday, aren't they darling in an ugly sort of way? I love how huge and bright there mouths are, no mistaken where the food goes wow! Momma was out gathering bugs so I thought I'd snap these for you. I plan on doing this through the course of their development or at least until momma pecks me on the head...No sense in posting a card because this is far superior to anything I could create.
Now tomorrow is a whole new sketch from Unscripted Sketches and if you liked last weeks sketch you will love next weeks so stop by and give it a go! Beth aka BR-T
