At Last!

Talk about last minute submissions, Studio 313 Grand Opening Challenge closes in about 30 minutes and I finally found some time to peruse her new shop. When you get the chance go check out her new store, The challenge was to create a card based on your favorite page in the shop, I was taken by the Nature Flowers/ Scenery section so from there I created this card:

Well I have but a moment to add this to Mr. Linky then the challenge will close. Have a good evening! Beth aka BR-T

Make your own designer paper

So this month just flew by and today is the final challenge for me as a guest designer at Crafty Creations  it was a lot of fun working with these talented women. With that being said the challenge for the week is to create your own background paper. Our fabulous sponsor this week is the Stamping Boutique!

The DT had the pleasure of using a sampling of their stamps in our creations as you will see! Here is my card:

I tried to make the background soothing and subtle not to take away from the whole Calgon take me away experience, or was Calgon the" ancient Chinese secret huh?" If you know what I'm referring to we must be getting a touch older! LOL! Well I hope you can take the time to play along this week! Beth

Dt Call A Card and I drove a Fire Truck!

Pixie Dust Studio is having a DT until April 28th, Oh my gosh have you seen her digi's? They are the cutest!  I thought I'd give it a shot why not you?!? She has several freebies here, here, here and if you join PCP Pixie group  you can receive the April Pixie Stamp which I used on this card for one of my DT submissions and many challenges.

Isn't she too cute? I think so I just love her slicker and rain boots! I created this card because this is so typical for Nebraska weather Sunshine vs. Rain and I love it because my flowers are gonna burst out soon! Here are the challenges my card will be entered into:
Secret Krafter  Distressing
Our Creative Corner  Blooming Blossoms
Crafty Catz  Stitching
Clearly I Stamp  Ribbon
Sew Many Cards  Anything Goes
Penny's Challenge  Anything Goes
Fairy Fun Fridays  Distressing
Quixotic  Make a Splash
So there you have it! Oh yeah remember my title saying I drove a fie truck? It wasn't the huge long kind with the ladders & all but it was a tanker none the less and needless to say I could have put out a fire from all the sweat I was dripping from nerves! I am not a fire fighter however this last weekend we had a Emergency Vehicle Training class for our ambulance which I had never driven before either! My friend Misty and I are the only 2 women on the squad and we teased our towns fire chief that we were going to drive his truck on the obstacle  course partially in gest...well late into the day we were determined this was going to happen and it did! Misty I believe got one of the highest overall scores! I killed a few cones oops! It was very empowering none the less knowing we were the first women ever in our town ( I think ) to drive that truck! HAVE A GREAT DAY!  Beth aka BR-T

Happy Saturday Unscripted Sketches style with a touch of Earth Day lingering in the mind. We decided to a blog hop and show you how we incorporated recycling into the sketch. If you came from Arielle's blog your on the right track, her card is just amazing as always! Before I forget here is this weeks sketch:

My son decided we should make some Kool-Aid  so we did but if I have to drink that style of beverage give me a wild cherry Caprisun thank you very much! So in the end I decided to use this packaging for my card.

This spunky Audrey digi from The Greeting Farm came to mind, doesn't she fit the bill perfectly? By the way The Greeting Farm has the Farm Fresh Friday challenge of getting your green on so I'll be adding this to their gallery as well. Well I hope you enjoyed your visit your next stop is Caryl for her innovative reuse. Have a super Saturday to you! Beth

Happy Earth Day!

So why is this day so special because this is the only planet we get and we need to be reminded of this! Torendi wants to celebrate with a blog hop of creations using recycled materials. So, what does May 1st and my love of yogurt have in common? May Day Baskets! Finally a use for all the containers that we have no recycling site for in this bit of Nebraska.

These literally took less than  20 minutes to make if you include the cleaning and label removing into the mix. I used the papers from Sassafras Nerdy Bird 6x6 paper bundle. I then embellished with my endless stash of doodads. Well while I'm off to eat about 30 more yogurts your next stop is Heidi. If you complete the hop and leave comments along the way you'll have a chance to win come great product from the Torendi Shop, Good Luck! Beth

Inky Impressions Challenging Challenge!

Have you ever seen a challenge that you thought that's easy enough until you sit down and try it? This weeks challenge at Inky Impressions did just that to me! This week we would change our challenge a bit and have it be a recipe!! The recipe is to use 3 layers, 2 designer papers, 1 ribbon, and three embellishments. As you'll see with my card I misread making thinks all that more confusing and included my ribbons a one of the three embellishments oops! Here is my card using a new release  Lili's Ice Cream and the fun coordinating Sentiment:

I think next to Flower Lili   and Fairy Lili  this is a favorite of mine so far! I hope you check out the rest of the Inketts creations because they are awesome! Here are the links:

This weeks challenge will be going on for TWO WEEKS so you have plenty of time to come and join the fun. No need to use Inky Images but if you have them we would love to see you use them!!!! To be eligible to get Inked by the Inkettes you must have all creations uploaded to Mr. Linky by May 3rd Midnight Eastern Time. We can't wait to see your creations this week. Have a great day! Beth

Torendi Showcase!

Rub-ons!  I will be working with I Heart Kawaii vinyl rub-ons by E.A.D Designs which are a Torendi Exclusive! These can be stuck to nearly anything; glass, plastic, wood, ceramics, pretty much any thing with a smooth surface (or not) as you will soon see! I created several projects for today, the first one screamed the used of these amazing rub-ons due to it's setting. We went to an awesome Japaneses Restaurant for my son's Birthday it was the best time!

Yatta means "You Did It" as a expression of joy in Japanese so I only felt it appropriate for this birthday celebration. Here is a detail of the cute monster included in the set. See how I was able to manipulate the vinyl? That just would not be possible with the other rub-ons out there!

My second layout is of my lovely daughter who came home a tad late from school. You know it's kind of hard to be mad when she brings you fist full of flowers even if they are Dandelions!

Here is a detail shot of the buttons I easily applied the rub-ons to:

Lastly I made this fun card mixing up some Bam Pop Volume 2 Collection and the Nerdy Bird paper line from Sassafras. This little storm cloud goes perfect with these papers!

Well I hope you feel inspired to rub on more than sun tan lotion! Have a fantastic day!!! Beth
