Pretty Cool....

It's my birthday today which means I don't plan

on doing anything I don't feel like doing!!!

Of course my day isn't exactly planned out so who knows...

I do know crafting will be top on the agenda, hmmm...

maybe it's my birthday every day!

Sunday Sunday...

Well I am back from my mini retreat with bff it was the best time ever!

I met Laura in kindergarten and it feels terrific 

to still have a connection after all these years.

I have another out -of -my element card to share,
 it's so soft for lack of a better word.

As you can see however this images is full

of compassion so I felt the soft soothing colors of 

Brown, Blue and White/Cream 

(Creative Craft Challenge)worked well.

It has been about  6 months or so since I last

played along with an Inky Impressions Challenge so I popped

over to their blog and found the challenge was to shine on. 

 I added several sliver backed dew drops for this effect.

CES would like to see embossing whether it be dry or wet.

 I chose to use the swirls embossing folder 

and then sanded it down to show the white core.

Word Plays 4th Challenge  is Scallops

Thing of Beauty is Crafty Purple Frogs challenge as we 

all know beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

 I hope you have a terrific day and for those of you

Scrappin' Saturday

Yep, you read right I am actually going to Scrapbook today!

My awesome hubby set it up for me to hang out 

with my childhood lifelong friend for the day

and then he got me a hotel room for the night!

What a gift!!!!

Before I go I have a card to share:

I Fussy Cut ( Just Add Ink ) Miko for this creation

and used the  (Anyone For Anya ) Sketch. Going so far beyond my comfort zone 

I almost got lost, here was my First Attempt ( The Spotlight Challenge )

 at Vintage ( Amber's Crafts and Stuff ) it was so hard! I envy those who demonstrate

such poise with this style!  

I Altered ( Crafts 4 Eternity) the Metal (  Sparkle's Forum   ) Buttons ( Sisterhood of Crafters ) by adding a white wash,

 it made the floral detail stand out. 

The "Thinking of You" Sentiment ( Stamp Something )  is from the Your Next Stamp

newest release Scene Sentiments.

Wow that's a mouthful!!!

 So what style have you steered clear of?

YNS May Releae Hop!

I am really excited today because as if you haven't already guessed from the blog title,

YNS is having a new release blog hop!

I am sharing a card combing two sets and they are

Golf Scene & Scene Sentiments,
those sentiments really tie in well 

with all of this months releases!

Now, besides a bit of put put, I don't golf but it was really great

working out of my comfort zone here is what I came up with:

 For more dimension I popped up the flag and green where the golf ball sits.

By creating a circular frame and running it thru the Swiss Dots Embossing Folder

there's a fun mimic of the golf ball.

Do you see what I mean about the sentiments?  I
love the word art style and you will too!

I couldn't wait to use that fun little red clothes pin!

Wow, we have had two days of sunshine in a row!

The Iris are staring to bloom as well as the Painted Daisies and
Dwarf Peonies, 

with the Penstimon and Poppies soon to follow.

The greatest joy is the snakes they are everywhere and this makes me happy!

I realize many of you do not have the affinity I have for these creatures 

I was a tomboy growing up so I'd usually have some creepy crawling critter

in my hand and pockets most of the time. 

I got bit stung sprayed and peed and pooped on 

but I never learned to fear these valuable creatures.

My kids are the same as I and I am most pleased!!!

I found the round metal circle within the shadows of my stash
