Pocket Card...

Well Good Afternoon everyone I hope your
week is turning out wonderfully!
Today I would like to share a pocket card
with a bookmark:
(click for sharper image)
The Basic Grey Olivia Collection
is the designer papers I used
and the 2 Spellbinders sets are
Labels 14 and Blossom Tags and Accents.

I used Phoebe Ketto on the bookmark,
she is my new favorite if I had to pick one.
I found these cute clear tags
under the rubble and they are from
Close To My Heart.
The cardboard is from a cracker box,
I ran it through the Argyle embossing folder
and inked up the edges to give
off a shabby chic appeal.
The grey rickrack is from an old sewing box
my mom gave me from back in the 70's.
I have only a foot left...
Thanks for stopping by!

CAS Card

Time is what I have very little of now-a-days,
but I find it almost unbearable to not post
on this blog so how do I cope?
A CAS card!
(click for sharper image)
Do you recognize the sentiment?
I stole it for my last blog posting
about my Isabelle.
What I really like about this card is
the corner adornments made up
of the butterfly wings as well as
the single pearl.
What I am not sure about is the
flourish, perhaps I should have
forgone it but all in all it pleases me.
Thank you for stopping by and have a
 wonderful day!

She Goes where she pleases and pleases where she goes...

that's how I feel about my daughter Isabelle.
She makes me so proud!
I created a layout using some photos
captured last fall.  We were going
out to see a production of
Fiddler on the Roof
so I made up her hair
and she is so beautiful!
I used sketch 55 from Sketchabilities:

Here is my layout:
(click for sharper image)

See I told you she's beautiful!
After a few tips from my readers I was able
to use my butterflies with slightly greater ease...
Cereal boxes are my new must upscale
because the thickness is perfect for the shadowed
butterflies and the texture really
shows when running through
a folder.
The bottom layer of the butterfly was gray
 so I inked it white
 then rubbed in some color
and add some pearlized ink.
Do you recognize the stamp sets?
They are Close To My Heart's
Playful Flourishes (single word sentiments)
Blooming Flourishes and
Butterfly Wings.
The rest of the embellishes were
pretty old items
just waiting to find a home.
I stamped the word dream onto a button
that I used black cord to attach to the layout
leaving it lose to mimic
the flourishes.
Well That's about it have a wonderful Saturday!

Suggestions anyone?

So here is my deal for over a month
I have been waiting for the new
Spellbinders Blossom Tags and Accents
and the Wonderful Wings...
They are a ##%$#^%#
to use!
The solid butterflies are no problem
but the intricately cut ones are really wedged
into the die that they tear or warp
during removal!
If any one has any suggestions that would be
Fabulous.

Sketchy Thursdays and Scrap Fit Combo

The weekend came and went with great speed
unlike this layout, talk about labor intensive!
Sketchy Thursdays has the most amazing sketch:

Can you say WOWIE ZOWIE?
They are in cahoots this week with
Scrap Fit who has added the twist

So I  racked my brains out trying to decide
which of my Bam Pop papers would really
give this layout life. I decided "Rad"
would fit the bill. Next came the matter
of who would go on this layout, why
my kids and a handful of their cousins.

My kids get along so well with their cousins that
when they were younger they assumed
anyone who they played well with
were automatically "cousins"!

OK...enough with the monologue,
here is my layout:
Does the "Rad" paper
 pop or what?!?
I was able to pull out a couple item from
the land of the lost;
the metal "cousin" tag and the silver metal
circle which was embossed
to create some texture.
Well that's about it,
 if you have any questions,
 please feel to ask!
Have a great day!

THANK YOU!

Oh Fussy And Fancy you made my day!

Iheartffchallenge

There continuing challenge is "Back To School".

Fall into Flashback Friday!

Flashback Friday wants to see you first fall themed card
I guess this fits the bill:

brt card

I believe I used the soot technique for this,
in a nutshell you stamp and ink  onto glossy
paper then you hold over a candle flame
for the blackening then you take clean stamps
and remove the soot in the pattern of the stamp.
Don't forget to spray a sealant or the
remaining soot will smudge and get everywhere!
I remember I didn't own glossy card stock
just photo paper and the heat of the flame
caused cracking so I salvaged what I could
and used the brads and hemp to cover the seams
from all the cuts I was forced to make.
Wow that was over 4 years ago...

She Colors My World...

Hello there, I hope your day is oh-so-wonderful!
I think I am coming down with a cold...waaaaah!
I hate feeling under the weather, usually I can turn it around
but this caught me by surprise.
I decided not to let it dampen my spirits,
instead I pulled out bright happy papers to create
a layout of my daughter.
(click for sharper image)

So there she is...she really does color my world.
Have a great Day!

So what have you been reading?

Good Morning!
Today I have a bookmark to share
for the Stampotique Challenge but I am a day late!
Their new challenge is black and white
with a hint of color but I suppose the red
is a bit too brazen...
(click for sharper image)
This is the first time I inked up Relaxin by Stampotique, and I love her!
The repeated wording in the background is
"black and white and read all over".
After I water colored my paper, I stamped the image
then masked it off
and ran it through the printer.
Finally I stamped some books
randomly with white ink.
It's like a faux resist technique and way easier to achieve!
And the best news 4 more white eyelets used up!!!

So what are you reading right now?
I am reading A time Travelers Wife which is interesting but the
jumping around is taking up too much of my reading stamina. My
backup is The Rangers Apprentice Series Book 3 Icebound Land.
My daughter is reading them as well, she's on book one but will
blaze through them in no time.

Thanks For Stopping Bye!

Happy Monday!
I have a layout to share of my daughter
the day I gave her my old camera, she was elated!
I used this weeks Sketchy Thursday sketch:

After some slight modifications here is what I came up with
(click for sharper image)

Don't you just love that Polaroid Camera Stamp?
It's from a company called Bam Pop, they have loads
 of great stamps and papers.
Feeling there was too much white I
stamped the camera around the edge of the paper
 using the masking technique.
Thanks For Stopping Bye!

I came across a new Scrap Challenge sight called
Scrap It Girl. This weeks challenge is to use some
sort of fabric an your layout whether it be
canvas, burlap or material.
I just got done pulling out my sons jeans
with holes in the knees and got an idea...

I cut out a back pocket! I lovin this layout as well as that
cute smile.
Stickers and chipboard are but a few items
I have plenty of but rarely use, today was a day
I saw fit to bring them out of the shadows.

Drama Queen Birthday

Good Evening!
I have a card I just finished up featuring Drama Queen digi From Tiddly Inks.
After being colored up for a year
it was time to put her to use!

For Inspiration I used this weeks Fussy and Fancy Sketch
which I flipped:

Detail of Skeleton Scroll embossing

The sentiment for this card it's a very old and long since retired
Close To My Heart set called Card Sentiments.
There are oodles of challenges out there
wanting to see homemade flowers so I pulled out
my Spellbinders Peony Die and a coordinating brad
to create these flowers.
Today it felt like fall because I was actually cold this
 morning when I woke up...happiness!
With the feeling of fall comes fall colors for this card.
My last comment is I finished off the inside of the card I rarely do this.
Well that's about it, there is chaos in the air trying
yo get my kiddos off to bed.
Goodnight all
